« RECORD »
Disposition: Choso is basically the world's oldest baby. That is, he spent the first 150ish years of his "life" as a semi-conscious aborted fetus/cursed object. Apparently, he was able to communicate in some abstract way with his eight siblings while they were all in this state. Recently, he was implanted into a human host, and incarnated (similar to how Sukuna manifested in Yuuji, but there's no residual presence of the host in Choso's case.) Choso inherited the common sense and some knowledge from his host, so he like. Knows what phones are but has probably not ever actually personally used a phone. He's an odd existence, which is fitting because there's not anyone else like him, humans and cursed spirits aren't supposed to be able to reproduce together. Choso seems to have an implicit understanding about how he doesn't really belong, and thus clings tightly to his familiar bonds. He doesn't belong with human beings, and he doesn't really belong with other cursed spirits either. Humans see cursed spirits as a problem to be solved with exorcism and cursed spirits often simply do not experience the very human emotions Choso has.
All this means Choso is naturally a very quiet and wary person, being pragmatic about any associations he has with people outside of his familial bonds. His family goes above all else. He allies with Mahito's group simply because he believes their end goal will ultimately be a better outcome for him and his siblings. He doesn't hate humans, but he also has no problem killing them if the plan requires it. Conversely, he cares deeply for his family, to the point that when he realized Yuuji was his brother (half brother, technically) he immediately became dedicated to protecting him even though he'd tried to kill Yuuji earlier for killing his brothers Eso and Kechizu. Literally he pulled a "I've only had Yuuji for a day and a half but if anything happened to him I'd kill everyone in this room and then myself." While normally very sedate, Choso gets emotional whenever it comes to his siblings, happy to the point of crying when Yuuji refers to him as his big brother.
While Choso apparently has some level of common sense from his human vessel, he seems to be using only the bare minimum of it, since his behavior is often just slightly off kilter. He is very focused on the one thing he considers important and not much else. When Yuuji suggests that Choso is their ally now, Choso denies this, claiming instead that he is simply Yuuji's big brother. He doesn't really adjust himself for other people's comfort (ominously appearing out of nowhere to contribute to the conversation, startling Megumi, breaking the game piece when he realizes his brothers have died), and just doesn't… seem to have the same regard for social graces as an average human. This is probably the curse side of him showing, similarly in how he went along with Kenjaku's plan simply because he had no problem with it, even though it involved killing innocent humans.
Suitability: Choso is motivated by familial bonds, the idea of closeness with another is something he understands the importance of, it will take some adjustment to get used to the idea of seeking it from people he's not related to but he'll learn. He basically just got bodily autonomy to actually interact with the world. All he seems to aspire to is being able to live comfortably in the world with his siblings. He already has magic powers, so he can adjust to having new and different ones surely, and as far as bodies changing… well he's only had a proper humanoid body for like, a couple weeks maybe, and one of his brothers looks like this so I don't think he's that precious about the sanctity of the human form. Choso seems somewhat wary of human beings, but since the native gems aren't technically humans, he'll probably be more willing to interact with them.
Condition upon arrival: He's in perfectly good health!
Abilities: Choso is considered a Special Grade cursed spirit, and as a result has a tremendous amount of cursed energy to work with. His general stats (strength, speed, endurance, and reflexes) are all beyond an average human being. In addition to being a talented hand-to-hand combatant, Choso predominantly fights using his cursed technique, Blood Manipulation. This allows him to manipulate his own blood. He does this by either condensing it outside his body (Convergence) to the point that the pressure it is under or the speed it is moving allows it to pierce flesh (Slicing Exorcism, Piercing Blood, Super Nova, Blood Knife), or inside his body to enhance his speed/power/reaction time by supplying more blood to certain muscles (Flowing Red Scale).
The primary downside of the Blood Manipulation technique is the effect of excessive blood loss to the user. What makes Choso a particularly dangerous user of this technique is his unique ability to convert his cursed energy (of which he has a lot) to blood, and effectively completely eliminate this side effect. Beyond the actual force damage, Choso's blood also has poisonous properties that can harm someone simply from skin contact. Additionally, Choso has a connection to those with whom he shares blood that allows him to sense when they are mortally wounded. In Noctium, this would only apply to Yuuji.
Inventory: He's got nothing but the clothes on his back
Gembond: Amethyst
Gem Location: the palm of his right hand
